Kurdistan Presidency rejects proposal over Davutoglu’s visit to Kirkuk [16:13] 12/Sep/05 PNA-Kurdistan Region Presidency rejected the recommendations of the committee formed by the Iraqi Council of Ministers to investigate over the visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister to Kirkuk. The spokesperson of Kurdistan Region Presidency, Omid Sabah, said in a press statement, “The CoMs has issued its decisions over the results provided by the committee, headed by the Deputy Premier, Hussein al-Shihristani, that investigated the visit of Davutoglu to Kirkuk.” “We announce our rejection to the recommendations of that committee and the decisions of the CoMs because they aim to trouble Kurdistan Region and limit its role in addition to the damage to its mutual relations,” he added. “The aim behind this decision and forming the committee by the CoMs is to create accusations and false charges to achieve other goals,” he pointed out. “The government of KRG assures that Davutoglu’s visit was legal and according to the official procedures by the Iraqi embassy in Ankara,” he concluded.
