The Italian Republic Day (Festa Della Republica)celebration in Erbil

The Italian Consulate General in Kurdistan Region celebrated the Italian National Day (Festa Della Republica) in Erbil. On 2nd June 1946 the people of Italy voted to abolish monarchy and established the current republican system. The event was hosted by, in addition to the Consul General, the country's Deputy Foreign Minister  On. Vincenzo Amendola and the Italian Ambassador in Baghdad. Both the Deputy Minster and the Consul General in separate speeches thanked the KRG and promised that their support in terms of military and economic assistance to the Region will continue. The Head of KRG'S foreign Relations Department in a congratulations message conveyed the appreciation of the people and government of Kurdistan to the people and government of Italy in particular highlighted Italy's role in the fight against ISIS by providing training and equipment to our Peshmerga forces.

The Head of Foreign Relations Office, Hoshyar Siwaily was among many distinguished guests who attended the ceremony and shared the event's sentiment with the Italian Officials and military personnel.
