The new British Consul General in Erbil visits the KDP-FRO in Pirmam
The newly appointed Consul General of Great Britain in Erbil, Martyn Warr, accompanied by Lucy Smith the Political Office at the consulate, visited the KDP-FR office in Primam. They were received by Hoshyar Siwaily the Head and other members of the Office. Mr Siwaily congratulated Mr Warr on his new appointment and wished him success in his new position and an enjoyable stay in Kurdistan.
During the meeting a number of topics were discussed but the issue of the forthcoming referendum was assessed in greater detail. The Head of KDP-FRO office explained the position and viewpoint of KDP on the historical decision to hold the referendum on 25th September and the justification for that decision. The Consul General reiterated the position of his country and emphasized that the People of Kurdistan have the right to self-determination but he raised concerns about the timing of the referendum.
At the end Hoshyar Siwaily thanked the Consul General, the British Government and the People of Britain for their support in the war against IS and hoped that Her Majesty’s Government would provide more political support to the people of Kurdistan to achieve their natural and legitimate rights.
