Masrour Barzani: Kurdistan Won’t Accept Violation of Its Constitutional Rights Barzani and EU Ambassador to Iraq discussed the latest developments

Chancellor of Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) Masrour Barzani met with the EU Ambassador to Iraq, Ramon Blecua, in Erbil on Monday.

The sides exchanged views about the latest political and security developments in the region and the relations between Erbil and Baghdad.

The EU envoy to Iraq expressed support for dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad under the Iraqi constitution, hoping that the tensions between Erbil and Baghdad come to an end soon.

Barzani stated that the root causes of the disputes need to be resolved so that the people of Kurdistan will no longer suffer from the injustices they have witnessed throughout history.

He reiterated that Kurdistan Region is ready for negotiations to resolve the pending issues through peaceful means.

Barzani stressed that Kurdistan Region will not accept the violation of its constitutional rights. He hoped the international community will intervene more effectively to help kickstart the negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad and prevent further escalation of the tensions.
