The United States desires a strong and stable KRG

Tuesday, November 14th - Mr. Steven Gillen, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the United States Consulate of America - Erbil confirmed their friendship with Kurdistan and regard Kurdistan as an ally. We will thrive to enhance bilateral relations and to challenge to mutual threats in the region. Head of KDP Foreign Relations Office, Mr. Hoshyar Siwaily welcomed the acting Consul General in Pirmam and reiterated his party’s commitment to peaceful resolutions to the current issues. Mr. Siwaily thanked the people and the government of the United States, particularly the Congress, for their continues support to the Kurdistan region. Mr. Siwaily described the current situation in detail to the guest including the violations of the Iraqi constitution by the central government and the unlawful military operations by Iraqi forces and Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Kirkuk and the rest of the disputed areas. The subsequent attempt to undermine KRG, the reduction of Kurdistani share in the upcoming Iraqi budget for 2018, the current security affairs, and the meddling of the regional forces in the Iraqi internal affairs were topics of the discussion. Mr. Gillen reiterated the desire of the United States to have strong KRG under its new structure. He also thanked the office for their hospitality. Both sides reiterated improving bilateral relations to guarantee a brighter future for all parties. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Silvia Eirez, Chief of Poltical and Economic Affairs, and senior office members Ms. Zozan Berwari, Mr. Dara Barawy, and Mr. Janghis Awakaley
