Kurdistan region has never been our enemy

Pirmam- Erbil the head od Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign Relations Office (KDP-FRO), Hushyar Siwaily welcomed Cosul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran In Erbil Mr. Ibadi and His accompanying delegation.

Mr. Ibadi confirmed the friendly intention of Islamic Republic Of Iran towards Kurdistan Region and stating “Iran has not and will not consider the Kurdistan Region and its people as enemies”.

On his part Mr Siwaily welcomed the delegation of the Iranian consulate general, and conveyed through Mr. Ibadi the condolences of the leadership of Kurdistan Democratic Party to the Iranian people, especially the family of the victims of the earthquake that hit west of the Country particularly Kermanshah region last month.

The discussions between both sides were frank and friendly. Mr. Siwaily urged Mr. Ibadi to use his good offices and persuade the Government in Tehran to open the major border crossings between the two sides as soon as possible their closure is not in the interest of both sides.  He expressed his dismay at the collective punishment which was imposed on the people of Kurdistan.

In the meeting bothe sides stressed on the historic ties between the people of Kurdistan and the people of Iran, and also share the opinon that the future cooperation will be best interest of both side.
