Chancellor of Kurdistan Region Security Council Masrour Barzani met  with German Ambassador to Iraq Cyrill Nunn and discussed developments between Erbil and Baghdad. The Chancellor welcomed Ambassador Nunn's support for a strong, united government in the Kurdistan Region and his personal efforts to review conditions necessary for political dialogue. Both officials agreed that immediate talks on practical measures can build trust. Chancellor Barzani reiterated calls by the KRG for immediate, unconditional talks based on the Iraqi Constitution. He expressed concerns about frontline reporting in recent days indicating Iraq has not yet ruled out military options to settle political disputes. During the meeting, both officials emphasized the need to address problems that preceded the war on ISIL.
