Kurdistan president Massoud Barzani  met on Wednesday in Erbil with Denys Gauer French ambassador to Iraq to discuss the situation of Syrian refugees in the region and bilateral ties.

The meeting shed light on the Syrian refugees in Dumez camp in Kurdistan, Iraqi political situation and KRG relations with Baghdad and neighboring countries.

The ambassador who recently visited the Dumez camp said that his country has a profound respect for the assistance KRG has provided to its inhabitants.

It has been an honor for Kurdistan Regional Government to assist the refugees by improving their living standards, said Gauer who also hoped that the International Community could provide living needs particularly the Winter season is coming.

The Kurdistan president believed that the assistances are humanitarian and national duty for which KRG has done whatever necessary to further serve the refugees.
