France urges the sides to revert to direct dialogue

Monday 15th January 2018, Mr. Hoshyar Siwaily head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office visited the Consulate General of the Republic of France in Erbil. Mr. Siwaily heading a delegation from the KDP-FRO visited the Erbil office. They were received by Mr. Dominique Mas, Consul General, and discussed the forthcoming elections in Kurdistan and Iraq and the overall political climate. Conveying the strong recognitions to the efforts of H.E. Mr. Macron, the French President, Mr. Siwaily expressed great appreciation and further expressed gratitude in taking the lead to bringing Kurdistan region to the diplomatic fold after the recent events, an action which signify the true bond of friendship between the two nations and sentiment to the strong historic bilateral collaborations. The discussion also include the current political situation in the Region in the wake of recent events in Kurdistan. Mr. Siwaily and the rest of his guests for the visit expressed his concern in regards to the current Erbil-Baghdad quarrels and wish for a speedy resolution to all the differences based on the implementation of the constitution.
