Nechirvan Barzani meets with Mr. Rashid Ghannouchi

On the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with the intellectual, political and personal well-known Mr. Rashid Ghannouchi, head of the Tunisian Renaissance Party.

The meeting, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, discussed the current situation in Kurdistan and Iraq and the wider region in general and the relations of the Kurdistan Region with the federal Iraq and the ongoing attempts to resolve the problems existing between Erbil-Baghdad in particular.

 

The two sides stressed the development of relations between Tunisia and the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, especially in the economic and trade fields. In this regard, the two sides considered opening the Tunisian consulate in Arbil as an urgent need.

The situation in the Middle East and the problems that have emerged on the ground in general, and considering dialogue and negotiation as the most effective way to find solutions and end these problems is another aspect of the meeting.
