Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region at the World Economic Forum in Davos, met with Mr. Jeffrey Feltman, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations for political affairs.

At the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, the two sides expressed their satisfaction with this meeting and shed light on the situation in Iraq in general and the latest developments related to the ongoing talks between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq in particular.

In this regard, Mr. Nichirvan Barzani presented a brief about the tasks of the technical committees that started their work in order to develop solutions to the outstanding problems between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government of Iraq. He also talked about his visit to Baghdad, stressing that the Kurdistan Region is committed to dialogue and addressing problems within the framework of the Iraqi constitution.

With regard to the displaced people and refugees , he explained that the Kurdistan Region has provided a lot of assistance in the issue of refugees and displaced people, considering the participation and support of the Kurdistan Region in the Conference on the reconstruction of Iraq in Kuwait is necessary.

The issue of how to provide facilities for the return of the displaced, and the assistance and support of the Kurdistan Region for Christians and Yazidis and the continuation of this assistance was another aspect of this meeting.
