Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Mr. Karab Karapitian, Prime Minister of Armenia.

On the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Mr. Karab Karapitian, Prime Minister of Armenia, in the presence of Mr. Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides emphasized that needs to strengthening bilateral relations between Armenia and the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, especially in areas of interest to the two sides such as infrastructure, energy, economy and  trade areas where Armenia has expertise and skill, which can benefit the Kurdistan Region.

The two sides highlighted the opening of the consulate of Armenia in Erbil, which was approved earlier by the Federal Government of Iraq and the Government of Armenia, as was discussed in the launch of flights between Erbil and Yerevan in the future where it is expected to be solved the problem of closing airports in the Kurdistan Region in the face International flights.

The discussion and deliberation of the relations of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the conditions of the region in general, was another aspect of the meeting.
