Chancellor Masrour Barzani received today Archbishop Nicodemus Daoud of the Kurdistan Region, Mosul and Kirkuk, and discussed recent regional developments, particularly in the Ninewa Plains.

Chancellor Barzani expressed concerns about the ongoing forced demographic changes in the Ninewa Plains as part of a campaign in other Kurdistani areas.

He reiterated his support in protecting Christian communities and a peaceful coexistence alongside other groups in the Ninewa Plains.

They also discussed the importance of strengthening the coexistence model of the Kurdistan Region to ensure it remains a safe haven for Christians and other persecuted communities.

The meeting attended by Mr. Khalid Jamal Alber, Director General for Christian Affairs in Ministry of Religious and Endowment Affairs.
