The Liberal Party of Canada is forming 'Friends of Kurdistan' group

During a visit to the Kurdistan Region, James "Jim" Karygiannis, member of Parliament of Canada from the Liberal Party of Canada, visited Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign Relations Office and met with Hemen Hawrami, head of KDP Foreign Relations and several members of the office.

On behalf of KDP, Mr. Hawrami thanked Mr. Karygiannis's continious support to the Kurdish cause and efforts for recognition of Anfal and Halabja chemical bombardment as campaigns of 'Genocide' on the international level. In the meeting, ideas were changed for improvement of bilateral relations between the two parties and mechanism for establishment of 'Kurdistan Friendship' group in the Parliament of Canada in collaboration with other Canadian political parties.

In the meeting, Mr. Karygiannis expressed his surprise and happiness for the developments that have taken place in the Kurdistan Region and re-emphasised his and the Canadian Liberal Party's full support for the legitimate Kurdish national cause. Stressing the significance of continuing and closer bilateral relations between the two parties was the subject for another part of the meeting.
