In his last meeting on the last day of the Munich Security Conference, Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), met with UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura.
The meeting discussed the complex situation in Syria, the latest developments in the region, ways to resolve problems through peaceful means, the current stage of Syrian reality and international efforts to find solutions to the problems there and restore security and stability to the Syrian people in all its components.
In another part of the meeting, the two sides agreed that it is necessary to solve the problems in the region in general and especially in Afrin and Syria in peaceful ways, while guaranteeing the rights of all components of the Syrian people, including the Kurdish people as the main component in this country.
The discussion of a number of other issues related to Syria, especially the war and the ongoing confrontations in Afrin and the protection of the lives of civilian citizens and away from violence, was another aspect of the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Fouad Hussein, head of the Office of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region and Falah Mustafa, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
