British Foreign Secretary sends Newroz greetings to Prime Minister Barzani

Foreign Secretary Johnson stated that “Over the last year, the Kurdistan Region, and the Kurdish people, have shown immense bravery and sacrifice in defeating Daesh, as well as considerable generosity in hosting so many of those displaced.”

“There’s now an opportunity to build a more secure, democratic and prosperous future for the Kurdistan Region and I look forward to working with you to help achieve those goals,” he said.

Foreign Secretary Johnson ended his letter with a line of a famous Newroz poem in Kurdish, “Amrozhi sali tazaya nawroza hatawa!”
