His Excellency Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional government Nichervan Barzani received Bruno Aubert, Ambassador of France in Iraq.

Prime Minister Nichervan Barzani discussed the political situation in Iraq with the French ambassador.  the meeting attended by French Consul General in Erbil Dominique Mass, the French Ambassador congratulated the success of the election process in Iraq in general and in the Kurdistan region in particular, then highlighted the process of elections and the formation of the new Iraqi government.

In this regard, the Ambassador saw it is important that the Kurdish parties united in the negotiations with Baghdad and have an active role in the process of forming the new Iraqi government.  Mr Aubert, encouraged both Erbil and Baghdad to continue negotiations to reach an agreement on all outstanding issues.  He also praised the efforts of His Excellency to resolve the differences and the problems between Baghdad and Erbil through dialogue.

Kurdistan Regional Prime Minister Nechervan Barzani, thanked the role and support of France and President Emmanuel Macron in strengthening relations with the Kurdistan Region. Prime Minister, emphasis on the continue process of Erbil - Baghdad dialogue, which resulted in the solution to the part of the problems between Kurdistan Region and Federal Government.

Prime Minister Barzani pointed out that Kurdish political parties are seek to unite and start negotiation with other parties in Baghdad to participate in the Iraqi political process and forming a new Iraqi government.

On the other side of the meeting, a number of issues related to the situation of the region in general and especially from the economic side were discussed.
