Prime Minister Barzani and U.S. Ambassador discuss the political process in Iraq
They discussed the latest political developments in Iraq, following May 12th parliamentary elections, and the recent decisions by the Iraqi Council of Representatives, calling for manual recount of the votes.
The two sides stressed that the unity among all the parties would ensure the success of the political process in Iraq. They hoped for the settlement of election-related issues so as not to hamper the formation of the new Iraqi government.
Prime Minister Barzani reiterated that the Kurdistan Regional Government and political parties are working together towards a serious participation in the next Iraqi government.
Other topics related to the situation in the wider region were also discussed in the meeting.
