On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), President Masoud Barzani, in recognition of their struggle, sacrifices and efforts, awarded Barzani Medals (the Highest Honorary KDP Medal in Kurdistan), to a number of Peshmerga veterans, Prominent Figures in Kurdistan, families of martyrs and representatives of the wounded in the war against ISIS and the war of defending the Land and the Homeland.
In the ceremony, President Barzani awarded Barzani Medal to Mother Aisha, who lost three sons in the war against ISIS, representing the families of the Martyrs of the war against ISIS. Similarly, President Barzani awarded Medals to Families representing families of the Martyrs of the September and Gullan Revolutions, the 16 October Resistance and a Representative of the wounded , in addition to awarding medals to a number of veterans of the September and Gullan Revolutions and Prominent national, Religious, Cultural and Community Figures.
In the same ceremony and in recognition of the charitable acts and activities, and in the service of the displaced and the afflicted, President Barzani awarded Barzani Medal to Barzani's Charitable Foundation.
In recognition of its active role in the fight against terrorism and the war against terrorists, and its role in stabilizing National Security, President Barzani awarded Barzani Medal to the Counter-Terrorism Directorate in Kurdistan.
Barzani Medal, which bears the name of the Immortal Mustafa Barzani, the KDP Founder and Leader of Many contemporary Kurdish uprisings and revolutions, was first awarded to the Poem Hazhar Mukryani and thereafter, to a number of KDP and Kurdistan wide veterans in a number of fields for their role in the long struggle and contribution in the development of Kurdistan.
