Prime Minister Barzani and U.S. Envoy discuss political process

In the meeting, also attended by the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Douglas Silliman and the US Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, Steven Fagin, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the region and the ongoing talks among Iraqi and Kurdistan’s political parties to form the new Iraqi government.

Kurdistan Region’s role in the current political process and its contribution to these talks were described as important and effective.

They also highlighted the results of the meetings, held in Erbil, between various Iraqi political alliances and the Kurdistan political parties, on the formation of the new Iraqi government.

The global political and security developments in the wider region were also discussed in the meeting.
