Delegation of Kurdistan Meet with Iraqi President Fouad Maesum

The main Kurdish political parties, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) sent a high-level official delegation to Baghdad for further discussions over the formation of the new Iraqi government.

The delegation led by the Secretary General of KDP Political Buearu Fazil Mirani and Mala Bakhtiyar member of PUK Political Buearu. on they arrival the delegtion met with president Fuad Masum on Saturday evening as part of the continuous efforts to establish the new cabinet in Baghdad.

During the meeting, Masum has stressed that the new cabinet should serve all Iraqis regardless to their ethnicity or nationality, according to a statement by the president's office.

The joint Kurdish delegation is also expected to meet with the winners of the May parliamentary election for similar talks, including forming the largest bloc in the parliament.

Most of the Iraqi and Kurdish political parties have intensified their efforts to establish the future Iraqi government, while the State of Law Coalition, led by Nouri al-Maliki, and Fatih Coalition, led by Hadi al-Amiri are competing with the alliances of Haider al-Abadi's Victory and Muqtada al-Sadr's Sa'eroun to win the Kurdish factions' support.
