President Masoud Barzani issues a statment on the election of the President of the Republic of Iraq

In the name of of Allah the Merciful

The current procedure for the election of the President of the Republic of Iraq is contrary to the prevailing practice during the previous sessions of the election of the President of the Republic. Because it was supposed to be nominated by the largest bloc, or resolve the nomination by the Kurdish blocs.

The current mechanism is not acceptable at all, and in the near future we will announce our position.
