The final results of the KurdistanRegion electionin which Kurdistan Democratic Party wins 45 seats

After reviewing the final results of the election, the Independent High Commission for the Referendum and elections in the Kurdistan Region announced the results of the parliamentary elections held at the end of last month. The Kurdistan Democratic Party won the first place with 45 seats of the total seats of Parliament. The party had 38 seats in the previous Parliament and the outcome seen as a triumph for KDP after 5 years of governing in difficult and challenging period. The KDP led Regional Government during the past  5 years managed to achieve victory over the terrorist Islamic State, provide secure and stable environment for hundreds of thousands of refugees and IDPs. It organised a successful Referendum and successfully dealt with the post Referendum events.

The number of votes and seats obtained by the entities was as follows:

Kurdistan Democratic Party: 686, 070 votes-45 seats

Patriotic Union Kurdistan: 319, 912 votes-21 seats

Change Movement: 186, 903 votes-12 seats

New Generation Movement: 127, 115 votes-8 seats

Kurdistan Islamic Group: 109, 494 votes-7 seats

Alliance towards reform: 79, 434 votes-5 seats

Modern Alliance: 15, 581 votes-1 seat

Freedom List: 8, 063 votes-1 seat

The 11 quota seats were as follows:

National Union Alliance: 3 seats

Turkmen development: 2 seats

Turkmen reform: 1 seat

The People List : 1 seat

Turkmen front: 1 seat

Rafidain List: 1 seat

The Assyrian Chaldean Council: 1 seat.
