President Barzani and Sayyid Muqtada Meet in Najaf

President Masoud Barzani arrived in the holy city of Najaf today where he held a meeting with Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr. President Barzani was accompanied by a delegation which included the Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council, Mr. Masrour Barzani and a number of other officials from the Kurdistan Region. During the meeting between President Barzani and Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr, the two discussed the process of the formation of the new government in Iraq and that this process indeed has the potentiality to pave the way for a brighter future for all the components of the Iraqi state.

President Barzani and Sayyid al-Sadr also spoke of the relations between Baghdad and Erbil and how the new government can work on enhancing those relations for the mutual benefit of the people of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
