Ladies and Gentlemen

First of all, Please allow me to thank the International department of the Central committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the local government of Hanghzou- Zhejiang province for contributing in making this event what it is now .

On behalf of Kurdistan Democratic Party in Iraq, I would like to convey you the warmest greeings of the president Mr. Massoud Barzaniand the political Bureauand wishes of a successful event.

Ladies and gentlemen,

our party (KDP) have been establishment in 1946 and began its struggle for Democracy in Iraqi and the legitimate political rights of the People of Kurdistan. To this day we still believe it is our duty to strive to enable the people to enjoy freedom and democracy in Iraq in general and Kurdistan in particular.

The choice of war was not any of our priorities. We were very confident that the language of dialogue was the best solution to discuss all the outstanding issues. We were the first to open the door to dialogue with all successive factions of the Iraqi government. Unfortunately, we did not find the serious partners to achieve our goals, yet We kept the door open for the dialogue.

Post liberation of Iraq from Saddam Hussein 2003, we participated in building the new Iraq so that the country would become a federal state with a democratic pluralism, that bring prosperity and peace to the people of Iraq. We actively participated in writing the constitution and supported its implementation to protect the rights of all Iraqis. In the light of the recent elections to the Iraqi Council of Representatives we are the Kurdistan Democratic Party and not as an alliance or blocs, our party came in the first place on country level, considering the number of votes and the Seats we got, and we hope to play an effective contribution In the parliament and the new Iraqi government. In the recent elections of Kurdistan parliament our party won 45 seats out of 100 parliamentary seats, which shows that we have the highest percentage of parliamentary seats in Kurdistan and Iraq. We are trying hard to form a new government and includes all political parties got Parliamentary seats. We are aiming to ensure the coexistence of all components of the Iraqi people and Kurdistan.

We are against any form of violence and persecution affects the human and individual rights, and feel it is our duty to further enhance the individual and collective rights of the people of Kurdistan. As KDP, we struggle hard in Kurdistan and Iraq so all Religions and seculars have equal rights and everyone enjoys freedom and expression of views and diversity and political freedom.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party led by President Massoud Barzani struggles to erase the religious, ethnic and sectarian extremism. We are trying hard to establish strong diplomatic and brotherly relations with the neighboring countries in general, and good relations with all nations around the world. We are striving for the reconstruction and peaceful coexistence, strengthening economic and diplomatic ties with other nations.We are against all kinds of barriers that harms economic development and cause hardship for the people, we want to have good relations with the countries of the region as well and the world. From this platform and through this forum we extend the hand of friendship in the Kurdistan Democratic Party to all those who believe in freedom and humanity and the rights of the people, including the people of Kurdistan. once again, I would like to thank the Chinese Communist Party for hosting and managing this important Conference.

We highly value the relations between the people of Kurdistan and the Chinese Nation and highly appreciate the relations between KDP and Chinese Communist Party. We hope that our relations will be further enhanced for the best interests of both sides.
