Nechirvan Barzani and U.S. Ambassador meets

Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman, U.S. Consul-General to the Kurdistan Region Steven Fagin, and their accompanying delegation.

They discussed security and political developments in the region, the situation in Iraq, formation of the new Iraqi government, and support of Kurdistan’s political parties to the government of the new Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi.

Prime Minister Barzani stressed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s support to Iraq’s new Prime Minister, Mr. Abdul Mahdi, in resolving issues between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, strengthening Iraq’s stability and security and improving economic situation in all Iraq.

Ongoing talks among Kurdistan’s political parties to form a new cabinet of Kurdistan Regional Government and other topics related to Iraq and the greater region were also discussed.
