Kurdistan Regional Security Council Chancellor Masrour Barzani's meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Iraq

Chancellor Masrour Barzani received today U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman and discussed the political process Iraq and the formation of a new government in the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, both sides agreed technical and security cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad can build the trust necessary to address the unresolved political disputes, welcoming the resumption of oil exports from Kirkuk as an important step forward in that effort.

Chancellor Barzani reiterated support for Iraq's Prime Minister to fill the remaining ministries, in particular security portfolios in a manner that advances cooperation and reforms. They also discussed the recent high-level visit to Baghdad, Najaf and the Gulf.
