President Barzani Receives Speaker al-Halbousi

President Masoud Barzani received an Iraqi delegation headed by Mohamed al-Halbousi, Speaker of the Council of Representatives. During the meeting, President Barzani and Speaker al-Halbousi spoke of a number of topics concerning Baghdad particularly the process of cabinet formation in the new Iraqi government.

The two also spoke of the ongoing issues concerning the IDPs and other Mosul-related issues and how the Iraqi government must prioritize the matter of resolving those issues. Speaker al-Halbousi made reference to the fact that the Kurdistan Region housed large numbers of Sunni IDPs from 2014 onward and expressed his gratitude for the Kurdistan Region's generosity during those challenging times.

The President warmly welcomed the delegation and stated that he will continue to fully support Speaker al-Halbousi and wished him continued success during his tenure as Speaker of the Council of Representatives.
