Masrour Barzani, Chancellor of Kurdistan Region Security Council and Iranian FM Discuss Erbil-Tehran Mutual Interests
Masrour Barzani Chancellor of Kurdistan Region Security Council received Mohammad Javad Zarif Iranian Foreign Minister. the two disscused on bilateral ties and mutual interests between Erbil and Tehran.
Chancellor M. Barzani referred to historic relation between the people of Kurdistan Region and Iran, noting that Erbil favors good ties between the two neighbors based on mutual respect.
The pair also reviewed the latest developments in the war on terror as well as progresses in the relations between Erbil and Baghdad.
Zarif explained that Tehran hopes closer economic relations with Erbil, and that stability and progress of Kurdistan and Iraq are of significant importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He also congratulated Barzani on his nomination as the next prime minister of Kurdistan Region.
