Chancellor Masrour Barzani meets UN Special Envoy for Syria

Masrour Barzani Chancellor of Kurdistan Region Security Council met today UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen to discuss the situation in Syria.

Chancellor Barzani raised concerns about the future of the Kurdish people. In their meeting, both sides discussed recent developments and agreed on the need to avoid further conflict to prevent further diplsaced and suffering.

In that regard, Chancellor Barzani urged the Special Envoy to include all communities and political factions in talks for a negotiated settlement that protects the rights and safety of the Kurdish people. They agreed to continue to stay in touch on these important issues.
