Hoshyar Siwaily the head of Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign Relations Office (KDP-FRO) received a delegation from Greek People's Party and the New Democracy Party, which is the second largest Party in the Greece Parliament. The delegation headed by Ms Evdokia Maggana, Head of the International Department of Greek People's Party and Chairwoman of Kurdistan-Greece Friendship Association and Mr. Georgios Nikitas from the New Democracy Party.
Head of KDP-FRO thanked the people and government of Greece for the support they provided to Kurdistan during the war against the terrorist organization, ISIS. Siwaily appreciated the long and historic relations between the two nations and hoped that this visit and the appointment of the New Greek Consul General to Erbil will further strengthen these relations.
The past and current developments in Kurdistan Region and Iraq, in particular the challenges the Region faced during the past four years were presented to the delegation. The formation of the new government was regarded as an important step towards strengthening political and security stability and economic development.
Ms Evdokia Maggana on behalf of the delegation thanked the head of KDP-FRO for receiving the delegation and the warm welcome. Both sides agreed to work together in the future in order to establish stronger ties between the People of Kurdistan and Greece and the Institutions of both countries.
