President Masoud Barzani received Dr. Caucher Birkar, the Kurdish scientist who wona Medal Fields.

During the meeting, President Masoud Barzani thanked Dr. Birkar and declared that every Kurd takes pride in his achievement. He wished that his success inspires Kurdish youth and increases their effort to participate in advancing research and innovation. He also stressed that the achievements of Mr. Birkar in the field of science is an evidence that if the young Kurds have the opportunity, they will perform like the rest of the youth of the world and can achieve great successes in the fields of science and creativity. He expressed his support for the efforts of the scientists in Kurdistan, and his support to raise the level of science and scientific research and the advancement of education in Kurdistan and wished him success and a long life.

 

On his part, Dr. Caucher Birkar in addition to thanking President Barzani for his support, he talked about a number of his future projects and ideas which he hopes will come into effect with the help of Salahaddin University – Erbil to help the students of Kurdistan and develop their abilities.
