President Masoud Barzani Receives New UAE Envoy to Erbil
President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, received on Sunday the new consul of the United Arab Emirates in Erbil.
They reviewed the bilateral relations and emphasized on further strengthening ties between Kurdistan Region and the UAE, according to the readout of the meeting.
UAE envoy, Ahmed Ibrahim Saeed, praised the people and government of Kurdistan Region for hosting millions of Iraqi IDPs and Syrian refugees during the years of Islamic State (IS) crisis.
He noted that his country will continue supporting Erbil to meet the requirements for sheltering the remaining IDPs and refugees.
Barzani noted that fostering not only diplomatic relations, but also economic and cultural ties between Kurdistan and UAE, are of high significance for Erbil.
The passing of Mustafa Barzani, and the grandeur of his struggle, remain for us an enduring call to continue our efforts until we attain all the rights of our people and our country
