Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani received the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday in Erbil where they reviewed bilateral relations as well as future cooperations to foster ties.
Cavusoglu arrived in Erbil overnight on Sunday after he paid an official visit to Baghdad. He held a meeting with Masrour Barzani, Chancellor of Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC), earlier today to discuss a range of issues, including frameworks to enhance developed partnership between Erbil and Ankara.
During his meeting with PM Barzani, Cavusoglu discussed ways to help greater trade and opening additional border crossings between Turkey and Kurdistan Region, according to the readout of the meeting. Discussing efforts to encounter terror was also on the agenda.
PM Barzani expressed Erbil’s full support to help Turkish private sector investments in the Kurdistan Region. He noted that the relations between them are “important and strategic”.
