Mr. Hoshyar Siwaily, Head of the Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP-FRO), received Dr. Varham S Petrosian, Head of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Yerevan State University and Head of Kurdish-Armenian Relations.
During the meeting, a number of issues and common interest were discussed, including the strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Armenia through economic and cultural cooperation. On the other side of the meeting, they discussed the strengthening of relations between the Armenian and Kurdish Political parties and Non-Governmental organizations, as well as between the Armenian and Kurdish communities abroad.
At the meeting the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government was also discussed. Head of KDP-FRO mention the KDP’s agenda to make the necessary reforms to reorganize the way government work and the build stronger and more united Government of Kurdistan.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Siwaily expressed the appreciation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party for the positions of the Armenian government and people, especially before and after the referendum in the Kurdistan Region.
For his part, Mr. Petrosian expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hi talked about historical relations between people of Kurdistan and Armenian people, and stronger cooperation between two nations requires to develop bilateral relation.
