Kurdish political leader and former president of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, received Jon Wilks, the British ambassador to Iraq, on Wednesday to discuss the political and security affairs, including the situation of the IDPs.
President Barzani and Wilks agreed on persisting Islamic State (IS) threats on Iraq’s security, noting that the political developments should not distract the efforts aiming at the eradication of extremist ideologies.
On the IDPs across Iraq and Kurdistan Region, they emphasizes on the importance of helping the displaced people, including the Kurdish Yezidi community, to make a safe return to their hometowns.
