Chancellor Masrour Barzani received today UN SRSG for Iraq Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.

In the meeting, both discussed developments in Iraq, with a focus on ongoing disagreements between KRG and the Federal Government. On the disputed territories, Chancellor Barzani welcomed UN engagement for a settlement that reflects the roadmap outlined in the Iraqi Constitution. 

Chancellor reiterated readiness to work closely with Iraqi authorities through the next KRG Cabinet. Chancellor Barzani and SRSG Hennis-Plasschaert agreed that stability in the area can provide both governments the opening necessary to advance political agreements. They agreed to continue dialogue on these issues of mutual importance.
