President Barzani described the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Jordanian Kingdom as historical, friendly, and exemplary.

President Barzani welcomes The Speaker of Parliament of the Kingdom of Jordanian. 

President Masoud Barzani welcomed Mr. Abdulmunim Elodat, Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament and a delegation consisting of Dr. Muntaser al-Aqle, The Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq and a number of Jordanian Parliamentarians.

During the meeting, the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament conveyed the greetings message from His Highness King Abdullah of Jordan to President Masoud Barzani. Mr. Elodat praised the the sacrifice of the Peshmerga and the people of Kurdistan in the war on terror, and emphasized that his country continues to support the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in the fight against terrorism. He also stated that the Kingdom of Jordan wants to further support stability and development of the Kurdistan Region and that relations between the two sides are based on friendship, common interest, and stability expanding to the rest of Iraq. 

In this meeting, President Barzani described the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Jordanian Kingdom as historical, friendly, and exemplary. In addition to focusing on King Abdullah's role in establishing stability, development, and deepening the friendship between the two sides, he also expressed appreciation to the Jordanian people and the King's position on supporting the Kurdistan Region in the fight against ISIS terrorists.

Threats to the Iraqi political process and the continued threat of terrorism to the stability of the region were another topic of this meeting
