Zarif Congratulates Nechirvan Barzani on Kurdistan Presidency

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has send a congratulatory message to Nechirvan Barzani on his election as the President of the Kurdistan Region.

Zarif offered his congratulations during a phone call with Barzani on Wednesday evening, wishing the Kurdish leader more success in his new position.

Nechirvan Barzani was elected during a parliamentary session as the new President of Kurdistan Region on Tuesday by winning a total of 68 votes from the 81 lawmakers attending the session.
