PM May Sends Congratulations to New President of Kurdistan
UK Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday congratulated Nechirvan Barzani on his election as the President of Kurdistan Region.
The message was published on PM’s official twitter account, saying that the UK is looking forward to strengthening relations with Kurdistan.
“Congratulations to Nechirvan Barzani on his election as President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The UK looks forward to strengthening its relationship with the people of Kurdistan,” May said.
Barzani was elected the new president of Kurdistan Region during a parliamentary session where he received 68 votes from the 81 present lawmakers.
The passing of Mustafa Barzani, and the grandeur of his struggle, remain for us an enduring call to continue our efforts until we attain all the rights of our people and our country
