President Masoud Barzani Condemns Deadly Bombings in Kirkuk

President Masoud Barzani, has condemned Thursday's deadly bomb explosions in the disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk where six people were killed and over a dozen more were injured.

According to the latest reports on the incident which took place on Quds street, the governor’s office and Baghdad Road, six individuals were killed and 17 more were wounded.

"It is very sad to hear that a number of civilians were martyred and injured in terrorist chain bombings in Kirkuk city on Thursday night. Apart from condemning these terrorist activities, I also extend my condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist incident and I wish the wounded a quick recovery," reads a statement by Barzani.

He further called on the federal government to find the perpetrators of the attack "as soon as possible."

"I call on the Iraqi government to find the perpetrators of these crimes and bring them to justice," the Kurdish leader added.

Barzani also pointed out that the goal of the terrorist organizations in the province is to harm the coexistence among the distinct components of the city, noting that the situation needs cooperation between all sides, including the Kurdistan Region's Peshmerga fighters and the regional, as well as federal, public institutions to eliminate the threats of terrorism in the area.
