Belgium Reaffims Support for Next KRG

Belgium has reaffirmed its "international cooperation" and support for the future Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) which will be led by PM-designate Masrour Barzani.

The comments were made by the Belgian Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq Hendrik Van de Velde in a congratulatory message to Masrour Barzani on his election as the Prime Minister of the new next cabinet.

"Congratulations to @masrour_barzani on being selected by @KurdistanParl as the KRG’s next Prime Minister," Van de Velde wrote on Twitter.

"Belgium will be a partner for agenda of outreach and international cooperation. Wishing him & his new cabinet success for the prosperity of the Kurdish people of Iraq."

Kurdistan Region's Parliament approved Barzani's candidacy on Tuesday and he now has 30 days to establish the next government.
