Kurdistan President Congratulates PM Barzani on Formation of New Cabinet

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani congratulated Masrour Barzani after the parliament approved him as the new Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

The Kurdish president wrote in an official statement that the formation of the new KRG cabinet is another achievement in the process of developing democracy in Kurdistan Region “which has came true with the support of the people, the political factions of Kurdistan, and the friends of our nation”.

He emphasized that PM Barzani deserves the leadership of the KRG to serve the people and their interests.

“Throughout the years, we have gone through many difficult situations to preserve the constitutional rights of our people and take their cause forward. I hope that we will not face these difficulties again so we will be able to focus our entire efforts on further developing Kurdistan,” reads the statement.

President of Kurdistan Region noted that PM Barzani is highly skilled to lead his team, face the challenges, and overcome the obstacles.

“As the president of Kurdistan Region, I reiterate my full support for you and your cabinet’s success.”

Masrour Barzani presented his cabinet line-up at the parliament of Kurdistan Region on Wednesday, 10 July. He was approved as the prime minister with 88 votes before his entire cabinet receive the confidence from the lawmakers.
