Kurdistan President Urges Peaceful Talks to Address Kurdish Question in Turkey

ERBIL — The Kurdish question in Turkey should be addressed through peaceful means not war and violence, said Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani.

The remarks were made during a meeting between Barzani and a high-level delegation of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) led by the party’s Co-chair Sezai Temelli on Sunday.

“War will solve nothing. No chance of peace should be missed in Turkey,” Barzani was quoted in the readout of the meeting.

The president of Kurdistan Region pledged that he will spare no efforts to help the resumption and the success of the peace process in Turkey, the readout added.

HDP welcomed Barzani’s position on the issue, and agreed that only peace serves the interests of all the peoples in Turkey.
