Barzani Welcomes Progress in Erbil-Baghdad Relations

Kurdish prominent leader and President of the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has welcomed the progress in the relations between Erbil and Baghdad.

The former President of the Kurdistan Region made the remarks during a meeting with his party's officials in Erbil on Monday, where he hoped that the remaining disputes between Erbil and Baghdad will be addressed through peaceful dialogue.

The Kurdish leader also commended the role of the people of the Kurdistan Region and Peshmerga fighters in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) in the past few years.

"We all owe Peshmerga because the Peshmerga changed all the equations and protected Kurdistan," Barzani stated.
