United Kingdom Consul General Ambassador James Thornton Visits Kurdistan democratic Party Foreign Relations Office

Hoshyar Siwaily the head of Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign relations Office (KDP-FRO)  received the new United Kingdom Consul General to Kurdistan Region, Ambassador James Thornton, who has replaced the outgoing Consul General Martyn Warr.The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Vinay Anicatt, Head of Political Team at the Consulate

 

We congratulated Ambassador Thornton on his appointment and wished him success in his new position. Views and opinions were exchanged on a number of issues concerning Iraq and Kurdistan Region. We thanked the government and People of the UK for their constructive role since 1991.

 

The Ambassador reiterated his country’s continuous support for Kurdistan Region in enhancing its capabilities in the security, economic and service provision sectors. He also said that Strengthening Erbil-Baghdad ties and resolving the outstanding issues between them in accordance with the Federal Constitution would be one of the top priorities of the UK Embassy in Baghdad and the Consulate General in Erbil.
