Kurdistan President, Halbusi Discuss Politics, Security in Iraq

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received on Thursday the Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi in Erbil to discuss the latest political and security affairs.

Barzani and Halbusi, during the meeting, stressed on the importance of the continuation of peaceful dialogue between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in hopes of addressing the remaining issues between the sides based on the Iraqi Constitution.

They further shed light on the Iraqi budget bill for the year of 2020, the process of reconstruction of the areas liberated from the Islamic State (IS), the situation of the IDPs and Syrian refugees, based in the Kurdistan Region, and their return to their places of origin.

The two leaders also discussed the security and political affairs in Iraq and the region in general.
