The world Mir of Yezidis, Mir Hazim Tahseen Bag, has rejected any military campaigns by Turkey against the Kurdish people in Syria, urging Ankara to use diplomatic means to address its disputes with the Kurdish people in the neighboring country.
Tahseen Bag argued that such military operations and confrontations always harm civilians, and that these "have never been" proper ways to resolve issues between the sides.
"We reject any military moves, and we call on the Turkish government to use diplomatic means so that civilians would live peacefully and with dignity."
He also urged the United Nations Security Council to put pressure on Turkey to halt its operations against the Kurdish forces in northeastern Syria, and to prevent any possible resurgence of the Islamic State (IS) in the region.
Due to the continuous bombardments by the Turkish aircrafts and artillery near the prisons where the IS militants are held, nearly 790 jihadists have so far managed to break out of jails, as the Kurdish forces could not handle the facility while attempting to repel the Turkish forces.
