China has urged the Turkish government to put an end to its military incursion into Syria where over 160,000 civilians have been displaces in less than a week with several dozens killed, the foreign ministry said.
Turkey has been pushing deeper into the northern territories of Syria since last Wednesday when it launched a massive aerial and ground offensive in northeast Syria against the Kurds.
Geng Shuang, a spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry, said Turkey is required to cease fire immediately and “come back to the right track”.
