The Kurdistan Region expects Iraq to take serious steps towards resolving the remaining disputes between the sides, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said on Tuesday.
Barzani, during a meeting with a US delegation, led by Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker, in Erbil on Tuesday, also pointed out that the Kurdistan Region has offered several recommendations for solving its issues with Iraq.
The Kurdish premier with the US delegation further shed light on the latest developments in Iraq and Syria, while Barzani expressed concerns over the security affairs in northeastern Syria, where Turkey has begun an operation against the Kurdish forces.
The two sides stressed on the need to end the violations in the region as it could lead to resurgence of the terrorist organizations.
Barzani and Schenker also noted that the international community needs to help the Kurdistan Region in hosting the IDPs and Syrian refugees who have fled war and violence.
